Justice Minister Judit Varga has called for the implementation of a “Christian conservative climate policy”, in an article published by Brussels-based news outlet Politico on Monday.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in a video posted on his Facebook page on Friday, declared his talks at the European Union summit in Brussels a success, saying that there was now a chance to ensure that poorer EU countries and citizens would not be made to bear the costs of fighting climate change.
The opposition parties criticised the ruling alliance for not having any representatives at a special session of parliament dedicated to climate protection on Wednesday and called on the government and ruling Fidesz-KDNP to participate in joint efforts.
