Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban won’t comment on the recent resignation of Austrian Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, Orban’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi told Hungarian news site 444.
According to Havasi, the prime minister considers this issue an internal affair of Austria. The news site asked him about Heinrich Pecina too, the businessman whom Strache mentioned in the leaked video and who used to own media outlets in Hungary. Pecina closed Hungary’s main left-wing opposition daily newspaper Nepszabadsag in 2016 and sold his company, Mediaworks to a businessman close to the government. Havasi said that the government won’t comment on the decisions of media owners.
Heinz-Christian Strache visited Hungary and held talks with Viktor Orban on May 6.
