Baden-Wuerttemberg’s Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann cancelled his meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who is not too disappointed.
The Green politician stressed in a statement that he decided to cancel the meeting on Friday because of the Hungarian government’s billboard campaign “against Jean-Claude Juncker”, which is, according to him, “anti-European and against our European values”.
Speaking at a press conference on another topic, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said Baden-Wuerttemberg was an important trading partner and added that he would hold talks in Stuttgart about economic issues, also meeting Mercedes management. He said the minister president of Baden-Wuerttemberg was “an extremely biased, pro-migration green politician” and “it is not a problem” that the meeting would not take place.
