The government will continue to stand up for the values of marriage, Secretary of State for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novak said at an ecumenical event in Kaposvar on Saturday, organised on the occasion of the Year of Families.
She warned that “some are fighting for the rights of a small minority and forget about the majority”. According to Novak, the sanctity of the family is under threat. She said that when talking about the role of men and women in marriage and traditional roles, public figures are cautious because they are afraid of being accused of homophobia. Novak urged the audience of the event to speak bravel and freely about obvious things.
“We shouldn’t forget about the majority, we should stand up for their values and declare that a man and a woman is needed for a family and one man and one woman is enough for a family,”
the state secretary stressed.
