The main topic of the next European summit and the European elections in 2019 will be migration, the Hungarian prime minister’s chief home security advisor, Gyorgy Bakondi told Hungarian public channel M1 on Friday evening.
According to Bakondi, the European Union has changed since the migration crisis in 2015, “George Soros’s people” have appeared in the European Parliament and the Commission too, not to mention that the latter is politically more active than before. He said that migration has become a crucial issue, borders have to be protected, illegal border crossings must be stopped. He noted that while several left-liberal politicians had said that the migration crisis is over, the increased activity on the Balkan route proves that it’s clearly not true.
The political situation has drastically changed in Europe, Fidesz communications director Balazs Hidveghi told M1. He pointed out that while Hungary’s position on migration has been consistent since 2015, now Germany and Italy are already on the same opinion. Hidveghi added that the European Commission “is not giving up the fight”, and its reflected in the new budget proposal too.
