Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz spoke to Der Standard about his views on European politics.
According to Kurz, there’s visible tension between East and West, South and North. “When Eastern Europeans have the impression that they are second class EU members, it’s anything but good,” he stressed.
He said that it’s a completely false idea to constantly lecture other EU leaders, because this kind of pigeonholing divides and destroys the EU.
“Why would anyone think that Viktor Orban or Matteo Salvini will be more ready for compromise if others look down on them?”
