The chairman of small liberal Momentum party, Andras Fekete-Gyor said if his party manages to get into the European Parliament in 2019, there are three options for them.
According to Hungarian news site Azonnali.hu, Fekete-Gyor considers joining the European People’s Party, the ALDE or a new group formed by the party of Emmanuel Macron. Azonnali.hu asked EPP group leader Manfred Weber, whether he’d be happy to have another member from Hungary apart from Fidesz and if Viktor Orban’s party remains a member of EPP after 2019.
“Our Fidesz colleagues, especially here, in the European Parliament, significantly contribute to the unity of the EPP”, Weber said. He stressed that Fidesz MEPs vote according to party principle, respect majority opinions and are always ready to discuss different opinions.
