Australia is committed to strengthening economic and trade cooperation with Hungary and the Visegrad group, Julie Bishop, the Australian foreign minister said on Wednesday.
Clearing the obstacles regarding free trade is in both countries’ interest, Bishop said after talks with Zsolt Nemeth of Fidesz, who also heads the parliamentary committee of foreign affairs.
The Hungarian and Australian governments have similar views on a number of issues, Nemeth said.
According to Hungarian press Bishop meets Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto and Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Thursday. The Hungarian government sees Australia as an important ally in influencing migration policies.
