Orban invited to Baku

Azerbaijan’s state media was first to report about the visit of Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy-Chair and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov to Budapest, and the invitation Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban received to Baku.

Hungarian news site 444.hu noted that neither the Hungarian government’s website, nor the Hungarian state news agency MTI informed about this.

According to AzerTag Ahmadov “extended the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Hungarian PM Viktor Orban and on behalf of the head of state invited him to pay a visit to Azerbaijan”. Orban said that he considers Aliyev “a close friend of his”, adding the visit of Azerbaijani head of state to Hungary played an important role in developing bilateral relations between the two countries.
