According to a recent poll conducted by the Policy Agenda institute the majority of Hungarians think that the country can be economically successful only in the European Union.
53% of the people asnwered that without the EU funds Hungary can’t be succesful. Among the voters of the ruling Fidesz party 40% shares this opinion, while 68% of left-wing voters, and 63% of Jobbik voters said the same.
According to the poll inhabitants of small towns are the least enthusiastic about the EU. Zoom.hu noted that opposition – mostly left-wing, liberal – parties often accuse the government of acting against European values, but these issues don’t turn small town voters against the ruling partes.
