The West should follow the policies of the Visegrad Four, American conservative writer and editor Rod Dreher told Hungarian news site Mandiner. Dreher praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, but spoke critically about Donald Trump, Pope Francis and the “liberal mainstream”.
He called Trump “incompetent”, said the president is a “fraud”, “certainly not a Viktor Orban”. According to the writer, Trump has “almost destroyed the Republican Party”, which wouldn’t necessarily be bad news, but he has no visions and can’t discipline himself, and while his personal style is radical, in many aspects he’s governing like a typical republican.
Regarding the Visegrad Group countries he said he hasn’t got enough information to speak about Viktor Orban’s policies in details, but judging one of his essays, Hungary’s PM seems to be a prophetic, maybe even heroic leader, who has more ideas than his Western counterparts. “Liberalism is dying”, he concluded, warning of Islamisation in Western Europe.
