The hearing about the situation of rule of law in Hungary at the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) is to take place on the 7th of December, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed on Monday that he will represent the Hungarian government at the hearing. According to previous news, representatives of the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, Amnesty International and Centre for Fundamental Rights will also attend the event.
The hearing has been initiated by Green MEP Judith Sargentini, who will submit an updated report on Hungary within the coming weeks.
Hungarian Minister of Justice Laszlo Trocsanyi and Government Spokesman Zoltan Kovacs attended a hearing about Hungary earlier this year.
