Former Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski thanked the Hungarian government for its support in an interview with Hungarian news site Pesti Sracok.
Gruevski explained that the SDSM government wants to resettle 150.000 migrants into approximately 20 small Macedonian towns, and he finds it outrageous, this is why his party, VMRO-DPMNE proposed a referendum to be held at the same time with the local elections. The plan was drafted by the labour minister, a former expert at the Soros Foundation, Gruevski said, adding that many Soros-funded NGOs started to attack his government when they closed the migration route. He stressed the close connection between Soros’s foundations, NGOs and the left-wing government.
According to Gruevski Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is a pioneer of the anti-migration fight.
“He closed the border in time, prevented mass immigration to his country and to Europe. Many politicians criticised this approach, but this has changed. Now many say that Orban was right for acting in time. Orban is a leader who knows what he wants and what his country needs. He’s very energetic, determined and very rightly puts his nation in the first place. Orban is Europe’s guardian”
– he said.
