Orban sends New Year’s wishes to Jewish community

Prime Minister Viktor Orban greeted leaders of Hungary’s Jewish communities on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, in a letter on Wednesday.

Hungary’s government is working to build a future “in which important values form a link between us: the love of our homeland and nation, respect for our religious traditions, and legitimate self-defence against external threats,” the prime minister’s press office quoted Orban as saying in his letter.

The letter was sent to the heads of Jewish federation Mazsihisz, Jewish cultural foundation Mazsok, the Orthodox Jewish Community, and the United Hungarian Israelite Community (EMIH).
